Telemea cheese quality from Banat region

Abstract
The aim of this paper was to compare the Telemea cheese quality within Banat region and secondly to apply a qualitative method for verification and estimation of food quality. For quality testing samples were taken from different Telemea cheese producers. The products were A) the ewe Telemea cheese from Varias; B) the cow Telemea cheese from Alios; C) the ewe Delaco Telemea cheese; D) the cow Delaco Telemea cheese; E) the ewe Teomi Telemea cheese and F) the cow Teomi Telemea cheese. According to the standards, the quality of Telemea cheese from Banat region was poor. Only two kinds of cheese (F and B) were better according to customers preference and Romanian Standard. The cow Telemea cheeses were better than ewe Telemea cheeses. There were no major differences in product quality either by using the points’ method or the integral index of quality.
